Wyuna is a sheep, cattle and deer farm, historically a part of the original Rees station that occupied the entire eastern side of Lake Wakatipu and beyond.
Situated at the base of the Richardson Mountains, the station enjoys magnificent west facing views across Blanket Bay and over Lake Wakatipu to the Humboldt range. There are expansive lake views to the north with breathtaking vistas that take in the Dart and Rees valleys, Mt. Alfred and Mt. Earnslaw.
The dramatic beauty of this landscape has made Wyuna a popular destination for filmmakers. Tourism New Zealand has used photography of Wyuna and Glenorchy internationally as iconic New Zealand landscapes in its 100% Pure New Zealand promotions.

Mountain biking and horse riding on Wyuna Station
Blanket Bay Lodge sits in the centre of Wyuna's western border and enjoys a special relationship with this significant pastoral estate. As a result our guests gain access to Wyuna and the many activities available on the property. Go horseback riding along the lakeshore, mountain bike up the Mt. Judah road or stroll over the farm. You can also rediscover the historic scheelite mines on Wyuna; and you never know, you may find gold which too was mined on the Station in the 1860's.
